Some Eagles fans are singing with joy, others are singing the blues after Philadelphia head coach Chip Kelly reveals more of his game plan for the upcoming season.
On Thursday, the Eagles announced a deal with Dallas running back DeMarco Murray. The former Cowboy's player will reportedly join the team in a five-year $42 million deal.
"I think we just tried to put together a group that we fill we can win when we get on the field in September," said Kelly in a news conference Thursday.
69 News spoke with some birds' fans over at Allentown's Chickie's and Pete's following the announcement. Some said they're looking forward to the new addition.
"That's a good move, that's a good move," said Gerry Villavicencio, a fan.
Other fans said they'll start rooting for DeMarco if and when he gives them something to cheer about.
"If he does alright, then he'll earn his respect," said Charlotte Makhoul, a fan.
The recent reveal comes on the heels of other team adjustments. The team is trading and letting go some of its biggest names.
"I really am upset with the trades actually," Makhoul said.
"He's looking to actually win this year," said John Pavlinsky. "I think he has a calculated plan and we have yet to see the final outcome. We just need to be patient."
Quarterback Nick Foles will join the St. Louis Rams next season. In exchange, the birds pick up Sam Bradford.
"If he stays healthy, I think he's a better quarterback," Pavlinsky said.
"Big mistake," Makhoul said.
Running back LeSean McCoy is also saying sayonara to the city of Brotherly Love. McCoy was traded for Buffalo Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso.
The team is also releasing defensive end Trent Cole.
Jeremy Maclin will join the Kansas City Chiefs.
