Eagles release Trent Cole

Trent Cole, second on the Eagles' all-time sack list, because the latest casualty of Chip Kelly's roster reshuffling on Wednesday.

Cole was officially released by the Eagles in yet another move designed to free up salary cap space.

With 85.5 sacks, Cole trails only Hall of Famer Reggie White on the Eagles all-time list.

Cole follows fellow veterans Todd Herremans and Cary Williams, who were also released over the last week.

The Eagles also have a reported agreement to trade their all-time rushing leader, LeSean McCoy, to Buffalo.
