Driver dies when car hits tree off Monroe County road

A Monroe County man was killed early Thursday when his car hit a tree.

The accident happened around 1:15 a.m. as 45-year-old Heath Williams was traveling south in an SUV on Paradise Valley Road in Paradise Township.

Police said Williams' vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and hit a tree about a half mile north of Browns Hill Road.

Williams, of Stroudsburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.
