A little boy is celebrating a big milestone in his life.
Sam Mackaravitz will have his last cancer treatment for Leukemia on March 7.
To mark the occasion, he decided to hit the ice with the Emmaus High School Hockey Team.
The 7-year-old dropped the first puck at the match at the Steel Ice Center in Bethlehem on Monday.
He said, "I really feel happy that my friends and family are supporting me."
Sam's parents and hockey team members said the young boy deserves all of the attention because he has been battling cancer for three and half years.
His mother Melissa Mackaravitz said, "He's a great inspiration, he's full of life and spirit and he just loves people."
Sam's father Jeff Mackaravitz said, "When you're part of a team it's an amazing thing."
Michael Smoker is the goalie for the hockey team and said, "Everybody loves him and he is a great kid, he has a great attitude."
Smoker started a program that raises money for kids fighting cancer and enjoys having Sam at the games.
Sam said being involved lifts his spirit and keeps him looking forward to the future.
Friends and family who cheered for him at the hockey match wish him well.
Lisa Cappes works for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley and said, "You guys are great and we love you and and we wish you all the best and healthy years ahead."
