A long-time Allentown bottling company may get a second chance at life.
The A-Treat Bottling Company, located at 2001 Union Blvd., closed its doors on January 23, after nearly 100 years in business.
The company made 32 different flavors of soda, according to its website, and had distributed its product to various retailers like Walmart, and Redners Warehouse Markets.
Thomas Coombs, former owner of the Bangor General Store, says he is interested in buying the A-Treat company with some unnamed partners, but can't seem to get in touch with company officials.
He told 69News he has called the A-Treat vice president but hasn't had any luck reaching him.
Coombs said he has two products he'd like to produce at A-Treat, including a Hispanic beverage.
A-Treat was fined nearly $130,000 in February 2013 by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for 14 repeat and two new workplace safety and health hazards.
According to the company's website, A-Treat was founded in 1918 by Joseph and Jack Egizio in a garage in downtown Allentown.
A-Treat moved to its current location in 1932.
