Police are attempting to locate someone they describe as a "person of interest" in the killing of two people in Reading.
Homicide investigators, in announcing new details in the case Tuesday, declined to identify the person.
Mary Branford and her son, Johnny Branford, were found dead Saturday night in the living room of their home at 646 N. 11th St.
Officers were sent there to check on the residents after family members reported not being able to contact them for several days.
An autopsy determined that Johnny died of multiple stab wounds; Mary's cause of death remains undetermined, according to the coroner, who ruled both deaths homicides.
Also Tuesday, detectives said they are searching for a car belonging to one of the victims, Johnny Branford.
The dark blue, 2000 Subaru Legacy was stolen, said police, who have listed it with the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
Anyone with information about the homicide or the location of the stolen car is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
