Police in Berks County say they've arrested a man following a shooting Tuesday at a motel.

It happened around 3 a.m. at the Rainbow Motel located at 391 W. Benjamin Franklin Highway in Amity Township.

Police say 19-year-old Ronald Coleman of Philadelphia got into a fight with a man who had come to his room to buy heroin.

They say that man's girlfriend -- Sara Craig-- was shot in the back when Coleman's gun went off.

Craig's boyfriend -- Drew Kulp -- took her to Reading Hospital. Police said she underwent surgery and is in fair condition.

Police searched Coleman's motel room and found one .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun and 552 packets of suspected heroin. They also found a .45 caliber handgun.

Coleman is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, possession with intent to deliver heroin, heroin possession and related offenses.

Coleman was taken to the Berks County Jail under $50,000 bail.
