Drivers are getting hit with higher prices at the pump in New Jersey and nationally.
AAA reports the average price of a gallon of regular gas went up 10 cents to $2 dollars in New Jersey.
However at the same time last year, drivers were paying $1.23 more than they are now.
"Stuff it adds up," Pennsylvania businessman Joseph Galazin said. "Every bit of savings is a big help."
And it is a similar story nationwide.
Prices are up 12 cents from last week, averaging $2.17 nationally. But that number is still much lower than the national average from a year ago, when drivers were paying $3.27.
"I'm just hoping they stay where they're at before they go higher," Shanise Cooper of New York said.
Some analysts say rebounding crude oil prices and refinery maintenance, that decreased production, are partially to blame for the uptick at the pump.
