The school day got off to a later start than normal for some students in Berks County on Thursday.
A handful of the county's 18 public school districts delayed the start of classes by two hours in order to give road crews enough time to make sure the roads were safe and clear of snow and ice.
Most districts sent their students home early Wednesday, ahead of the storm that coated the area with an inch or two of snow during the afternoon and early evening hours.
Snowfall totals provided by the National Weather Service are:
Kutztown: 2.2 inches
Blue Marsh Dam: 2 inches
Hamburg: 1.8 inches
Mohnton: 1.5 inches
Mertztown: 1.5 inches
Southwest Reading: 1.3 inches
Huffs Church: 1.3 inches
Shillington: 1.3 inches
Berks County will get the chance for more snow from another storm set to make its presence known on Saturday. Get the latest weather forecast from the 69 News StormCenter on WFMZ.com.
