A Carbon County woman is facing charges after police say she stole a necklace from a memorial that was set up at the scene of a deadly crash, then tried to sell it online.
Pennsylvania State Police say Amanda Everitt, 24, of Palmerton, is charged with theft.
Investigators say she removed a silver and ruby necklace from a memorial that was set up on Dairy Road, in Lower Towamensing Township.
That's where four teenagers were killed in a crash on December 19th. Michael Muniz, 17; Nathan Murray, 16; Courtney Murray, 13; all of Palmerton, and Austin Hunsicker, 16, of Bowmanstown died.
Police say Everitt tried to sell the necklace on Craigslist and on Facebook. They say one of the victim's relatives saw the photos, and arranged a meeting with Everitt to buy the necklace.
The necklace was eventually retrieved by police. Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
