An arrest for driving under the influence in Berks County early Sunday led authorities to a suspected steroid-trafficking operation.
Police say 38-year-old James Palmer was arrested in the 1000 block of Penn Avenue in Wyomissing around 2:30 a.m. for DUI.
Authorities then learned Palmer, of 77 Sweetwater Lane in Lower Heidelberg Township, was suspected in trafficking steroids and had several false identities.
Police were able to locate a storage locker rented under one of Palmer's false identities, and searched it, along with his home and vehicle.
Authorities say the searches netted more than 1,000 oral and injectable steroids and hypodermic needles.
They also found shipping envelopes addressed to people throughout the U.S. containing various oral and injectable steroids.
Palmer is charged with DUI, possession with intent to deliver steroids, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities say he will face more drug related charges for trafficking steroids.
