A Berks County family is gearing up for the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the nation.

The Kamp family has high hopes for this year's Pennsylvania Farm Show, which officially kicks off Saturday.

Collin, 16, and Evan, 13, are getting ready to showcase their goats, which are named Glace and Poseidon.

"Just living on the farm, you have to have something to do with the animals, so I think it's fun," said Collin.

"I just like hanging out with my friends at the fairs and then showing them," said Evan.

The teenagers have been involved with 4-H since they were eight years old. Now, their family is gearing up for its fourth show in Harrisburg.

"It was just something that's in our blood," said Alice Kamp. "We really enjoy going to the farm show. It's just the big hoorah for us."

This year, they have to contend with the bitter cold, which can take a toll on the animals.

"They don't really like it because it's cold all the time," said Evan.

That's why the goats are dressed in coats, and instead of pigs in a blanket, the hogs have been moved to a warmer structure on their farm in Perry Township.

The pigs have not been able to have a bath because the cold water is stressful on their bodies. They will get bathed right before the show.

In the meantime, Collin and Evan made last-minute preps before they head out to Harrisburg.

"I'm looking forward to just trying to do good, said Collin.
