Trial date delayed for accused killer Adam Matos

A former Lehigh County man accused of killing four people in Florida, will have to wait to start his trial.


Adam Matos, 29, formerly of Orefield, was in court in New Port Richey, Fla., Tuesday morning where a trial date was to be set, but the judge postponed setting the date.


Matos is accused of killing his former girlfriend, 27-year-old Megan Brown, her parents 52-year-old Gregory Brown and 52-year-old Margaret Brown, and Megan's boyfriend, 37-year-old Nicholas Leonard in August.


The Browns had just moved to Florida from Orefield in July.


Matos was found September 5 at a hotel in downtown Tampa, Fla., with Megan Brown's 4 -year-old son, who Matos said is also his son. The boy was not hurt.


Matos' public defender said witness depositions haven't begun, and ore than 200 people are on the witness list.


The Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney's office plans to seek the death penalty.


Another pre-trial hearing is set for January 29.
