A bomb threat is prompting the evacuation of Alvernia University's campus in southwest Reading.


A message posted on the university's website states that the "campus is closed effective immediately and until further notice. All students, faculty and staff should evacuate campus immediately."


Officials have not disclosed further details of the threat or said how it was made.


Final exams have been cancelled for the remainder of the day and will be rescheduled, officials said.
