A Berks County teenager charged in connection with a shooting in Bethlehem has been extradited from Florida.

Leah Cadwallader, 18, of Lehnartsville, arrived in Bethlehem early Wednesday to face criminal conspiracy to commit homicide and criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated assault charges in connection with the June 15 shooting of Anthony Berliner in Bethlehem, according to Chief Mark DiLuzio, Bethlehem Police Department.

Berliner, 19, was shot in the chest at Pfeiffle and Atlantic streets in the city's Yosko Park area, police said.

He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in serious condition, but officials on Wednesday could provide no updates on his current condition.

A Bethlehem police detective interviewed Cadwallader and her boyfriend, Evan Castellanos, 19, over the phone after the shooting and both said they were in the New York City area at the time of the shooting.

Detectives found evidence, including cell phone records, GPS mappings and store receipts, that placed the two in the Lehigh Valley during that time.

After the investigation stalled, Bethlehem police Det. Sean Molony took it before the sitting Northampton County investigating grand jury.

The grand jury identified Castellanos, a suspected drug dealer, and Cadwallader as the individuals responsible for the shooting, and arrest warrants were issued for the pair.

Molony, who had been tracking them, located them in Florida. They were arrested by detectives with the Kissimmee Police Department on Nov. 23.

Cadwallader was arraigned Wednesday morning and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $5 million cash bail.

Castellanos, of Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, is in a Florida prison, DiLuzio said, and no date has been set for his extradition.
