Part of a Berks County highway was shut down for several hours following a U.S. mail truck accident.
Authorities say it happened just after 3 a.m. Sunday morning on Route 61 between Grant and Fourth streets.
A U.S. mail truck driver swerved off Route 61 to miss a deer and went into a ditch on the side of the road, police say.
He still hit the deer and took down 180 feet of guard rail with him.
He then crawled out from truck and remarkably had only a scratch on his face.
The southbound lanes of Route 61 were closed from the time of the accident, and as of 8 a.m. were still closed and expected to be so for another couple hours.
