Reward in $12 million outlet building arson to be increased

The reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in connection with an arson in Reading is being increased.

A news conference is scheduled for Wednesday during which officials will increase the reward to up to $75,000.

The reward is for information that helps find the person responsible for a fire at the former Reading Outlet Center at North Eighth and Oley streets.

The building was being turned into apartments when it was set on fire last month.

Damage from the fire tops $12 million.
