Body found in Schuylkill River in Leesport

The coroner has been summoned to Leesport for the discovery of a body in the Schuylkill River.


The body was found shortly before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the water near East Wall and Water streets, not far from the borough's firehouse, according to emergency dispatchers.


Officials could not immediately release any further information, including whether the body is that of a male or female.
