Accused cop killer Eric Frein now is facing charges of terrorism.
Two terrorism counts were added at a hearing Thursday afternoon, which Frein attended via video conference from Pike County's prison.
According to the amended criminal complaint against Frein, the terrorism charges are based on evidence that he shot two Pennsylvania state troopers with the purpose of influencing the policy of government.
Police released a letter Frein wrote to his parents, in which he stated: "Our nation is far from what is was and what it should be...Only passing through the crucible of another revolution can get us back the liberties we once had."
One count of attempted homicide against Frein was dropped Thursday.
Frein is accused in the deadly ambush on the Blooming Grove Police barracks on Sept. 12.
Corporal Bryon Dickson was killed and Trooper Alex Douglass was seriously hurt.
Frein was on the run for 48 days before he was captured at an abandoned airplane hangar in Pocono Township.
According to new court documents,Frein wrote a letter to his parents saying it was time for a revolution.
According to the documents, the terrorism charges were added after Frein allegedly told investigators he shot the troopers because he wanted to make a change in government.
