3 admit to stealing vases from cemetery in Maidencreek

Three people have admitted to their roles in the theft of items from a cemetery in Berks County.


Francis Olekszyk, Luke Wright and Cheryl Vogelei pleaded guilty to theft and conspiracy.


Vogelei was ordered to serve nine to 23 months in the county jail followed by five years' probation; Wright was sentenced to two to five years in state prison followed by five years' probation.


Both were also ordered to jointly pay $24,087 in restitution.


Olekszyk was sentenced to time already served.


Police said the trio admitted to taking bronze vases from the Berks County Memorial Gardens in Maidencreek Township on two occasions in June.
