Klinger's on Carsonia and the restaurant's customers are partying with a purpose.
In addition to St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday, Klinger's is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a series of special menu offerings and events that started Friday.
The theme -- "five days for five years" -- will benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Blankets of Hope-Berks, and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Customers who donate money to the charities will be entered in a drawing for a number of prizes, including a Boscov's Travel voucher for a random customer who participates in all five days.
Blankets of Hope said it will use its share of the proceeds to donate blankets to the young patients at CHoP.
The celebration will culminate Tuesday with Klinger's annual charity breakfast buffet, served from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. In lieu of payment for breakfast, the restaurant will ask customers to leave a donation for CHoP.
Klinger's years of helping CHoP is the fulfillment of a young family member's dying wish. Nicholas Klinger lost his battle with cancer at the age of five. His last wish was for people to help others.
Klinger's and its customers have since raised more than $35,000 for CHoP and other charities.
The St. Patrick's Day celebration will continue throughout the day Tuesday, with bagpipers entertaining customers from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and SideArm performing from 8 p.m. until 11 a.m.
