Woman accused in ATM theft pleads guilty, sentenced

A woman accused in an ATM theft in Reading has pleaded guilty to the crime.

The theft, caught on surveillance camera, took place outside a furniture store on North Ninth Street in September.

Police said Kathy Schadler acted as a lookout while John Nieves attempted to wheel the ATM away in a trash can.

Schadler appeared in court and entered her plea Monday. She was sentenced to between 18 months and five years in state prison.

Nieves pleaded guilty in January and was sentenced to between 15 months and five years behind bars.
