Fire scare at Knowlton Twp. municipal building

A fire alarm call to the Knowlton Municipal Courthouse sent emergency response officers to the scene at about 6:30 p.m Thursday.

Officials said smoke was coming from the boiler room in the courthouse, causing police officers and the fire department to rush to the scene.

Firefighters from the Knowlton Fire Department arrived, shut down the furnace and used an electrical fan to clear the smoke from the building.

They secured the furnace and then left the scene while the Keyholder secured the building.

A N.J. State Police officer, who was dispatched to scene, said no further state police action was taken.
