Two men now face the rest of their lives behind bars for the murder of a Berks County woman.

Ryan Schannauer and Adam Lynch pleaded guilty in Lancaster County Court on Monday to all charges in the killing of Ashley Kline, including homicide, arson and abuse of a corpse.

Kline, 23, went missing from her home in Robesonia on Dec. 30, 2013. Her body was found nearly two weeks later, on Jan. 12, in the Middle Creek Waterfowl Refuge in Clay Township, Lancaster County.

Investigators said the men assaulted Kline, stabbed her multiple times, then doused her with gasoline and set her on fire while she was still alive.

Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman called it a "viscous and gruesome crime."

In fact, Stedman planned to seek the death penalty for Schannauer, 20, of Spring Township, and Lynch, 21, of Reading, if the case had gone to trial.

Instead, the men were sentenced to life in prison.

WFMZ's Liz Kilmer will have more on Monday's court hearings in a live report on 69 News at 5:30.
