Police have arrested three men in connection with a crime spree in and around Pottstown, and one of them has been charged with murder.
Authorities on Monday announced the arrest of Derrick Jackson in the deadly shooting of Lori Marie Sheridan inside Sheridan's apartment in the 500 block of King Street on Dec. 1.
Sheridan, 47, was lying in her bed when, police said, Jackson shot her at close range with a shotgun.
Derrick Jackson and his cousins, Andre Jackson and Jourdan Harper, were also charged in a pair of armed robberies that were committed in Pottstown and West Pottsgrove Township before and after the homicide, authorities said.
Both Andre Jackson and Harper were also with Derrick Jackson when he shot and killed Sheridan, said authorities, who provided the following timeline of events on Dec. 1:
Armed robbery at 262 King St. in Pottstown; killing of Lori Sheridan at 503 King St. in Pottstown; and armed robbery at Berks and East Howard streets in West Pottsgrove.
"The arrests in these violent cases have come from the collaborative investigative efforts of Pottstown police, Montgomery County adult probation office, West Pottsgrove police and our detectives," said Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.
"The detective division has been a beehive of police activity. Superior teamwork has led to these arrests," said Chief F. Richard Drumheller, Pottstown Police Department.
Authorities have not offered a motive for the homicide.
