Bollman Hat Company donates hats to people in need

A local hat company is helping the less fortunate in Reading stay warm this winter.

The Bollman Hat Company took part in the eighth annual "Headware for the Homeless" program.

It donated 150 hats to the Opportunity House and about 50 hats to the women at Mary's Shelter. The company also donated gloves and scarves.

"It gives people a good feeling during the holiday season," said Don Rongione, Bollman Hat Company, "feeling the warmth of the season and protecting themselves from the elements, and there's nothing like a hat to lift your spirits and feel good about yourself during the holiday season.

The Bollman Hat Company is based in Adamstown, Lancaster County. It's America's oldest hat factory.
