Thanksgiving may be a week away, but the holiday season is already underway in Bethlehem.
Chriskindlmarkt opened Thursday, and the seasonal pilgrimage started.
"I love Christmas, and I love Christkindlmarkt, so this is the perfect combination," said Irene Tomchick, of Schuylkill County.
For the 22nd year, Christkindlmarkt is now open, and people packed into the German/Austrian-themed SteelStacks location.
During its five-week run, 135 different vendors fill the gift giving void, offering everything from glass art and jewelry to hand-painted Christmas tree decorations.
"Great venue. People are nice. It's well run. There's a lot of diversity of the products," said Gale Shirek, a vendor from Yardley.
This is the fourth year handmade soap seller Lance McCall has made the trip from Santé Fe, New Mexico, to the Christmas City.
"They keep coming back, keep telling us their stories. They keep buying our product. It's just an enjoyable time in a great place in the country to be," he said.
Chriskindlmarkt is open Thursdays through Sundays through Christmas.
