Top News : Firefighter battle row home fire in Reading

Firefighters managed to make quick work of a fire in Reading.

Crews were dispatched shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday to the 400 block of Birch Street.

Initial reports were that smoke from the fire could be seen from downtown.

Police officers were the first responders to arrive on the scene and reported flames on the top two floors of the home.

Firefighters arrived moments later and knocked down much of the fire within minutes. They also searched the home and found no one inside.
