People who are concerned about the future of Warren County's nursing home will get a chance to have their voices heard Thursday.
The county will host its first public hearing on the proposed sale of Warren Haven at 7 p.m. Thursday at the county courthouse in Belvidere, Freeholders Chairman Ed Smith said Wednesday.
Speaking at the freeholders' monthly board meeting, Smith said the hearing will be run by a moderator who will take statements from the public. The hearing is scheduled to be held in courtroom 1 at the courthouse.
The freeholders voted earlier this year to market Warren Haven for sale. County officials say the nursing home costs Warren more than it brings in.
A group called the Coalition to Save Warren Haven has petitioned the county to put the sale before voters.
A second hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the Mansfield Township municipal building.
