Cold air moves in, brings some rain, possibly wet snow overnight

Clouds will lower and thicken throughout the day as the combination of a cold front to the west (associated with a low pressure system centered well to the north) and a coastal low off to the southeast converge.

This combination will bring showers to the area starting late this afternoon.

Those showers will then run through the overnight and into the first part of the day on Friday.

While these showers are initially expected to come in the form of rain there may be some mixing with and changing over to snow overnight.

Snow accumulations will be minimal (if at all), but it maybe enough to slick up some roadways for the Friday morning commute.

High temperatures this afternoon will top out very close to 50s in most locations, which is seasonably cool for this time of year.

As mentioned earlier, Friday may start out with a lingering snow shower or flurry, but things will turn out partly sunny by midday.

Highs on Friday will be colder than today with mid 40s being as good as it gets for most and strong winds out of the northwest adding insult to injury.

Those winds will die down for Saturday, but temperatures will once again struggle to reach the low and mid 40s despite plenty of sunshine.
