The Boy Scouts are on a mission to feed the needy..and they need your help!
It's time for the annual Scouting For Food campaign.
The single-day food drive will be held Saturday. Then the donations will be distributed to local food banks, including the Salvation Army in Bethlehem.
Officials there say they were dealt a blow yesterday..when it was announced that their meat provider, Bottom Dollar, was going out of business.
Now they say every donation will help.
Fran Rader with the Salvation Army told 69 News, "We're seeing...more families who've never been in here before coming for assistance. So what may have been adequate in the past, is no longer adequate. So we're looking for more and more food donations."
To participate in the "Scouting for Food" drive, all you have to do is put non-perishable food items in a bag and leave it on your front porch.
Then the Boy Scouts will pick it up.
You can also drop your donation off at a number of businesses, including Wegmans and Walmart.
