The Daniel Boone and Governor Mifflin football teams hope to punch their ticket to the District 3 semifinals on Friday night.
For the (14) Blazers, that means defeating another cinderella, (11) Milton Hershey, on the road Friday night in the AAA quarterfinals.
Daniel Boone stunned (3) Lampeter-Strasburg while the Spartans knocked off (6) Gettysburg last week.
The Blazers come in armed with the confidence that they can play with anyone at this point. They proved it last Friday and have for most of the season.
(2) Governor Mifflin rolled past (15) Red Lion in a AAAA first round game on Friday behind a record-showing from Wilson Fontanez.
The Mustangs played a complete game, and will need to this Friday night when they host perennial-power (7) Cumberland Valley.
There's no roll-overs at this point in the quad-A field, and the Mustangs know they'll need their best football over the next three weeks. If last Friday was any indication, Mifflin is in good shape.
