No classes tomorrow at an elementary school in Allentown that was hit by fire this morning. >> rob: The kids weren't there yet -- they were ok. The fire at Cleveland Elementary School comes one day after the kids were evacuated for a gas leak -- an apparently unrelated thing.. but of course, parents are concerned about a safety issue on back to back days. >> wendy: And the school district has called a community meeting for tomorrow. WFMZ's Chandi Lowry is live on North Ninth Street with the story. Chandi? >>Rob and Wendy.. the doors are locked here at Cleveland Elementary School.. and they won't be opening up tomorrow for students.The fire forced the school to close today and tomorrow.. leaving parents concerned about the next move.>>REPORTER:Close to 300 students from Cleveland Elementary School will be tucked in bed Wednesday morning.. instead of sitting behind desks.>>NATS:A fire damaged the building and shut down the school... leaving parents wondering what's next for their kids. >> yahaira When i drop my children off I'm entrusting Cleveland elementary and the Allentown School District with the safety and well being of my children.>>REPORTER: Yahaira Washington says Monday students were evacuated for a gas leak..she says a similar situation happened two weeks ago.The district says yesterday's incident is not uncommon..the evacuation is protocol..The school district says safety is a priority. Officials plan to have a meeting Wednesday night for parents at St. Lukes Evangelical Lutheran Church to talk about the future of the students and the school. >>superintendent:00:05:44 "We've got to huddle and decide how we are going to deal with this.">>REPORTER School officials will be working on plans to repair the damage on the second floor of the building.>>NATS: >>REPORTER:Maria Abdalla lives right next door to the school... and was home when the fire broke out.>>MARIA ABDALLA:19:33:19"We're scared cause we are close to the school.">>REPORTER:But she's thankful.. the fire didn't spread and her four children were not outside when the windows of the building shattered.>>MARIA abdalla: 19:34:17"All of the glass came into my back yard.. >>reporter: When the fire started about 7:00 in the morning... students hadn't arrived.
