Tim Daley announced his candidacy Saturday to become the next mayor of Reading.
He will run for the post currently held by Vaughn Spencer, who announced he is seeking re-election.
Daley, who is executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Berks County, said he will focus on building stronger, safer neighborhoods.
"Under my direction, the emphasis will be on clean and safe," he said. "We will change the perception of this city."
Daley has a long history of service in Reading.
Previously he was a Reading police officer and later served as the criminal justice program director for the Berks County courts.
Jim McHale and Wally Scott also have announced they want to be Reading's next mayor.
