As two approaching snow storms near, crews are busy preparing to make sure roads are safe.

"We are really used to dealing with back-to-back storms," said Carl DeFebo of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission's first attack was Saturday, when much of the region was hit with 4 to 8 inches of snow.

Now crews are gearing up for not one, but two upcoming storms. Authorities say they are fully prepared.

"We did order more salt last week," said DeFebo. "We have plenty of materials to fight this storm. We are also making sure all the plows have fresh blades."

Authorities say they do need your help to make sure everyone stays safe.

"People get in a hurry in bad weather and that's kind of a recipe for a disaster," said DeFebo. "If you are traveling, you have to build in extra time."

Also, don't forget to be extra cautious if you are driving near a plow.

"We always recommend people don't pass snowplows because your visibility will be hampered because of the snow spray," said DeFebo.
